These guidelines are a supplement to the German Law regarding the treatment of all waste in general and hazardous waste, which is in effect since 1996. The new "Ordinance of Avoidance of Packaging Materials", effective August, 1, 1998 also refers to the disposal and recycling of waste.

The following rules apply in order to avoid problems when delivering your waste to the CLDR:

1. Material which can be recycled (i.e. metal, paper, cartons, glass, styrofoam, plastic containers and -foils) will not to be accepted at the CLDR.

2. Construction and excavation debris/residues can be recycled at companies, which specialize in recycling debris. Therefore, only construction waste, which cannot be recycled will be accepted at CLDR. Please do not mix construction debris with construction waste.

3. Hazardous waste (i.e. paint, varnish, enamel and oil paint, acids, caustic solutions, pesticides, waste oil, batteries) will be not accepted at CLDR (call firm GSB for hazardous waste removal at 09721-800724 or the DPW-Environmental Branch at 09721-966795 (DSN 354-6795)).

4. All packaging material (i.e. cartons, canisters, kegs, bags, palettes, boxes, plastic wrapping material, lids, styrofoam and similar coverings, which are all components of packaging materials) has to be recycled and will not be accepted at CLDR.

 

Garbage is a symbol! As you sort your recyclables, you are coming face to face with our comsumer society.

Should unscreened waste for some reason be delivered to the CLDR in spite of all caution, and it is found to be not in compliance with above regulations, you are herewith notified, that it will not be accepted. In exceptional cases only, it may be possible to sort out recycable materials.
